What is Venturing?
The Venturing program launched in 1998 as a Co-ed Boy Scouts of America high-adventure-based program. The structure and design allows for older students to pursue their interests while earning awards, not merit badges. Venturing was developed for the purpose of providing high-adventure while mirroring real-world situations in the workplace without the grind. Is it really work when you are planning activities that you enjoy? Ok, maybe a little - but the payoff is in experiences that you will remember for a lifetime!
Who is in charge?
The Crew is in charge. The Crew Advisors don’t run the program. The Crew does. Adult Leaders mentor, help with training, and provide logistical support for Crew plans. They help us stay on track and bring up suggestions we may not have thought about to help our adventures be successful.
Our Calendar
Our Crew plans their calendars 6 months in advance so we have a good line-up of community service, recreation, and fundraising events. (We have to actually fund our activities. But lucky for us, we can have fun doing it!)
